HOW IT WORKS

You introduce us to your top 2 causes, outside of Geoflower, that you would like to see receive support. You tell us why this impacts you and is meaningful for you. We look them up for authenticity and transparency. If selected, we add them to the collective voting list.

MEMBERS INDIVIDUAL CAUSES

During the year or at the end of the year we may select your submitted cause and make a charitable donation.

A COLLECTIVELY CHOSEN CAUSE

We choose a “top 10” short list from among everyone’s suggestions and invite current members to vote on which they’d like to see receive a collective donation. At the end of the year we make a charitable donation to that choice cause.

Farm Manager

+ CSA Lead

SALARY / COMPENSATION: DOE

The Farm and CSA Manager will oversee the general and specific operations of the farm, provide organizational direction and advising, as well as delegating such as hiring help as needed, overseeing volunteer coordinator, or independent crew management. Skills and applications include strategizing, collaborating, and communicating goals, methods, schedule, and requirements between owner, teams, help, and CSA community members. Position will start with this initial season with aim to expand and evolve over the next few years.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years professional hands-on farm management experience, guiding a successful agricultural start-up, or small regenerative ag organization to achieve their goals

  • Interest and/or experience with Regenerative Farming, Biodynamics, Permaculture, etc

  • Open mind, excellent communication of ideas and requirements, and good references

Community Relations + Membership Director

SALARY / COMPENSATION: DOE

The community relations position is our point person for building and maintaining program memberships. This includes organizing the database, managing phone and email communications, and marketing strategies for current, annual, and upcoming programs. The person in this position is comfortable being our “social glue”, building and nurturing the authentic relationships each membership represents. There are many different programs, so there are different membership pools, with different timing, needs, networking, and strategies, such as for farm classes versus mindfulness educational programs.

 

Qualifications

  • Successful experience with membership sales, marketing, and community building

  • Progressive values, excellent verbal and written communication, comfortable and engaging social demeanor, and strong EQ

  • Experience with psychology, social systems, or mediation a plus

Animal Care Specialist

SALARY / COMPENSATION: DOE

Our Animal Care Specialist will be our point person for care and upkeep of any single species or all of our beloved animals that call our farm home: Siberian Huskies, Goats, Sheep, and/or Chickens. Skills and applications may include: purchases, delivery, and receipts for food and supplies, food prep, feeding, animal washing and basic grooming, general space cleaning, poop cleaning, refreshing supplies and environment, taking on walks or moving them around per schedule, and otherwise watching over or providing loving attention, interactive day care for these living beings. Requirements may include managing an ongoing flexible schedule, phone and email communications, finding back-up help as needed, preparations, keeping track of, and refilling supplies, tools, materials, etc.

Qualifications

  • Successful experience with and love of any of these farm animals and animal care

  • Forward-planning, self-directed, and also team player, detail oriented, good communication, punctual, flexible, and professional in fulfilling changing needs of the role

  • Progressive values, excellent verbal and written communication, comfortable and engaging social demeanor, and strong EQ

  • Experience with farm operations a plus

Volunteer/Help Coordinator

SALARY / COMPENSATION: DOE

Our Volunteer/Help Coordinator will be our point person for building and maintaining all volunteer positions. This includes organizing a list of those interested in volunteering, matching skills and interest with available farm projects or needs, making sure health, interest, inspiration, performance, follow through, and gratitude is high, guiding and overseeing all help or work done on the farm in the farm’s best interest, managing an ongoing flexible schedule, phone and email communications, back-up help as needed, preparations, keeping track of, and refilling supplies, tools, materials, etc.

Qualifications

  • Successful experience with farm operations, team leadership, hiring, project management, communication, and community building

  • Progressive values, excellent verbal and written communication, comfortable and engaging social demeanor, and strong EQ

  • Experience with organic farming, native landscaping, or permaculture, a plus

Volunteer Positions

COMPENSATION = FARM MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS*

Volunteer to help out at Geoflower farm this year!

All Volunteer positions will be guided by our Coordinator.

VOLUNTEER POSITIONS: 2024 SEASON ***MARCH — OCTOBER***

  1. Full Season Availability = Flexible Schedule | Some weeks on, some weeks off | Generally available as needed 1-2 days a week | 4-16 hours a week

    Regular (but flexible) help with ongoing farm upkeep and operations, including feeding and caring for the animals, helping with the plants and soil, working the land, basic clean up, event set-up or break-down, etc

  2. Role or Project Specific = For a specific role or time frame. For example to fulfill a project goal, such as planting, maintenance, harvest, preparations, events, CSA prep —or— to fulfill a role such as animal care or an event such as CSA prep or pick-up.

  3. On-Call = As needed. We will keep your contact in our ‘active’ roster and reach out in advance based on your skills and interests per the needs of the farm.
